A woman was struck and killed by a pickup while crossing the street in Huntington Beach on Monday night, police said.

When officers arrived at the scene at about 6:45 p.m., they found the woman lying on the street near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Liberty Drive, police said.

Orange County coroner’s officials identified her as Lisa Phillips, a 52-year-old Huntington Beach resident.

Authorities think a 1997 Toyota Tacoma hit Phillips while she was crossing the northbound lanes of Beach between Liberty and Newman Avenue. The truck’s driver remained at the scene and was not cited or arrested, police said.

Paramedics took Phillips to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she died about an hour later, according to the coroner’s office.

The Huntington Beach Police Department’s Major Incident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash. Police said they don’t know yet whether alcohol was a factor.

Authorities asked that anyone with information about the crash call Huntington Beach police Accident Investigator Robert Barr at (714) 536-5666 or Accident Investigator Josh Page at (714) 536-5670.
