Blessing of the Animals to be held Saturday

The Msgr. Antonio Cacciapuoti, the pastor at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, will preside over a Blessing of the Animals, set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. Area residents are invited to bring their pets for the event, which will take place in the church courtyard, 215 Foothill Blvd.

Pets should be either on a leash or otherwise easily contained. All participating animals will receive a gift bag containing Holy Water, a St. Francis Holy Card and a St. Francis pet medal.

A Blessing of the Animals is traditionally held on or around the date of the Feast of St. Francis, the Patron Saint of Animals.
