Sheriff’s deputy assaulted outside CV High

A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy suffered minor injuries in a scuffle with a suspect wanted for assault outside Crescenta Valley High School Monday, authorities said.

The man, Soloman Hearring, 20, was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon and robbery in La Cañada Flintridge, said Lt. Chad Sauter of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Hearring was spotted by the deputy outside the high school’s entrance around 2:45 p.m., Lt. Bill Jaeger said.

After approaching the suspect the two engaged in a scuffle, Jaeger said, and the man was taken into custody.
