The manager walked them to the front counter and left them with the cashier. She then heard the cashier yell and saw the man run outside the store. The manager ran after him but was unable to see where he went.

Security footage showed the cashier putting the phones into a plastic bag and setting them on the counter. The suspect then entered a phone number into the card reader at the register. As he did that, he grabbed the plastic bag and ran out of the store.

The manager said only corporate accountants have access to the phone numbers entered in card readers.

Grand theft: 5000 block of Commonwealth Avenue. A woman said that at around 2:20 p.m. that day, a Middle Eastern male in his 40s rang her doorbell, said he noticed she was selling her home and asked if he could check it out as a potential buyer. She told the man there was no open house but said she’d be willing to let him look around. The woman followed the man throughout the residence as he looked, walking her two dogs on a leash behind him. She told deputies he was alone in the master bedroom for about 30 seconds, while she was outside in the hallway, but was otherwise in her company. The man then left in a Black Mercedes sedan with tinted windows, and the homeowner realized he was alone in the bedroom where some valuables are kept. She returned to the room and noticed a gold Rolex watch with a black face was missing from her husband’s watch display case. When interviewed by deputies, the husband said he last saw the watch in its case that day at around 11:15 a.m.
