Four hope to vie for La Cañada Flintridge City Council

As of Wednesday morning, four La Cañada residents had pulled candidate’s papers in the race for two open seats on the La Cañada Flintridge City Council, although none had yet officially filed, according to City Clerk Tania Moreno.

Incumbents Mayor Jon Curtis and Councilman Dave Spence reportedly pulled nomination papers on Nov. 14, the first day of the filing period. La Cañada residents Ruth-Ann Rohman and Keith Eich later pulled papers on Nov. 16 and Nov. 21, respectively.

The filing deadline is Friday, Dec. 9, at 5 p.m. To qualify for a nomination, a candidate must be a registered voter in La Cañada Flintridge, a U.S. citizen, and at least 18 years of age.

The next general municipal election will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, filling two seats on the City Council, each with a term of four years. For more information, contact the city clerk at (818) 790-8880.
