Youth Roundup: La Canada Junior Midgets finish undefeated with conference crown

In an utterly dominant performance, the La Cañada Gladiators Junior Midgets sent the Pico Rivera Dons to a 30-0 defeat to finish the season undefeated with the San Gabriel Valley Junior All-American Conference title on Sunday at Walnut High.

While the Gladiators emerged undefeated, they also sent the Dons to their first defeat, as La Cañada’s core group of players won its fifth consecutive championship together.

Max Garrison led the Gladiators’ onslaught with four touchdowns and added an interception.

Garrison propelled the Gladiators to an 8-0 lead at halftime with his first score before La Cañada pulled away in the second half.

Quarterback Pierce Clarkson and receivers Sal Guerrero and Colin Mathews also had good games, as did running back Andrew Sharman.

Matthews, Guerrero and Jonah Cisneros scored two-point conversions and the defense was led by Cisneros, Jamie Warner and Patrick Weinman.
