Sports Roundup: La Cañada boys’ water polo wins on senior night
BOYS’ WATER POLO
La Cañada 10, Monrovia 7: Though it’s been a tough season for the Spartans, they still picked up a Rio Hondo League victory at home on senior day Thursday afternoon.
Vincent Wardle, Matthew Bilavar and Colin Nicholls paced the Spartans (5-16, 2-6) with two goals each.
Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 22, St. Francis 5: The Golden Knights fell in a Mission League road contest Wednesday afternoon.
With the defeat, St. Francis dropped to 5-22 and 1-3 in league.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
La Cañada 15, Monrovia 3: The Spartans kept their hopes alive for a share of the Rio Hondo League title by picking up a league road victory on Thursday afternoon.
The victory, the third straight for the Spartans, improved the team’s record to 7-5 and 6-1 in league. La Cañada closes its regular season on Monday hosting San Marino (7-0).
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Harvard-Westlake 3, Flintridge Sacred Heart 0: The Tologs fell on senior night at home, 25-12, 25-23, 25-19 in Mission League action.
Megan Lund tallied 13 kills, while Emily Smith added eight kills and Cate Doud tallied 30 assists for Flintridge Sacred Heart, which is 14-13, 2-6 in league.
Westridge 3, Flintridge Prep 1: The Rebels fell in their Prep League finale on the road Thursday afternoon, 21-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-15.
Flintridge Prep finished in fifth place in the Prep League with a 12-10, 4-8 record in league.
