1986 - Jack Morris and the Minnesota Twins failed to come to terms on a contract and the Detroit Tigers pitcher, a free agent, continued to shop his wares around the major leagues. Morris offered himself to the Twins for $1.7 million a year, but the offer was rejected by owner Carl Pohlad.

1991 - Sean Vosted scored 17 points and lead Aberdeen Roncalli's junior varsity to a 69-45 victory over Warner's JV basketball squad.

1996 - Vin Baker had 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Milwaukee Bucks gave coach Chris Ford a 107-91 National Basketball Association victory over his former team, the Boston Celtics. Ford played for the Celtics from 1978-82 and coached the team from 1990-95.

2001 - Kordell Stewart completed 20 of 31 passes for a career-high 333 yards and two touchdowns and the Pittsburgh Steelers earned their first National Football League playoff berth since 1997 with a 26-21 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

2006 - Northern State sank 11 three-point field goals en route to a 77-53 college women's basketball victory over Black Hills State. Allison Johnson, Miranda Boepple and Carolin Becker tossed in 14 points each to lead NSU (10-1) and Jaclyn Arns finished with 12 points.

2010 - Groton overcame an 11-point first-quarter deficit and went on to a 64-62 overtime high school basketball victory over Britton-Hecla. Kalen Kjellsen tossed in 21 points to pace Groton (4-0) and Drew Dohman added 17.
