1986 - Todd Alexander rebounded his own missed shot and scored with one second left to give Minnesota a 67-65 men's college basketball win over Wisconsin. It was the Gophers' first road win of the year.
1991 - At 13-0, McLaughlin has the best record among area basketball teams. The only other undefeated teams in the area are Northwestern and Herreid, both at 10-0.
1996 - Redfield raced to its 10th win in 11 games with a 73-56 high school basketball victory over Aberdeen Roncalli. Rhett Schaffer poured in 33 points and grabbed 19 rebounds to lead Redfield. Todd Senger, Ryan Pierce and Billy Blotske paced Roncalli with 11 points each.
2001 - Casey Darling tossed in 28 points and Kyle Anderson added 16 to lead Langford to a 75-61 high school basketball victory over Leola. Chris Paulson contributed 11 to the Langford total. Blake Hoffman topped Leola with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
2006 - Nicky Rausch tossed in 17 points to lead a balanced attack for Hoven as it defeated Edmunds Central 74-39 in high school girls' basketball. Traci Heuer added 13 points and nine rebounds for Hoven, Mallory Jacobs had 12 points and Jamie Gunderson finished with 11 points.
2010 - Krista Rabenberg notched 23 points and 15 rebounds and Mikayla Barondeau followed with 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead Northern State to a 66-47 college women's basketball victory over St. Cloud State.
