OUTDOORS

Work on fishing road

A popular road used by anglers is undergoing construction in Sully County.

Those accessing Bush's Landing Lakeside Use Area west of Onida can expect minor delays while the county road leading to the popular boat ramp is being resurfaced. The five-mile project starts at the fish cleaning station near Sunset Lodge and extends east for two miles on 182nd Street and south for three miles on 284th Avenue to the intersection with Highway 1804.

Traffic will be routed around equipment through the end of July. After that, traffic will be detoured from 284th Avenue west on 184th Street and then north on 283rd Avenue. The detour will not increase the distance to Bush's Landing.

The project is scheduled to be completed in early September.

TENNIS

New Mitchell girls' coach

Mitchell middle school teacher Pat Moller is the new coach of the Kernels girls' tennis team. Mitchell is still looking for a boys' coach to replace Gayle Klein, who retired last spring after 27 years as the Mitchell boys' and girls' head coach.
