AT THE PLATE: Albert Pujols had his second consecutive two-hit game. His bases-loaded, two-run single to center field off Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani highlighted a three-run third inning. Pujols lined out hard to right field in his last at-bat. Josh Rutledge and Kole Calhoun singled and scored in the third, and Erick Aybar had two hits, including a run-scoring single in the third. Chris Iannetta drove in a run with a double in the fifth, and Johnny Giavotella hit a solo home run to left in the seventh.

ON THE MOUND: The Angels lost their third straight game in the ninth inning when reliever Ryan Mattheus gave up two singles and a laser of a three-run home run to right field to Juan Duran. Left-hander Cesar Ramos had his second strong inning of the spring, giving up one hit in a scoreless seventh, and right-hander Matt Lindstrom gave up one hit in a scoreless eighth.

EXTRA BASES: Outfielder Matt Joyce said he expects to return to the lineup Tuesday after sitting out two games because of tightness in his right side. “It’s from overexertion,” Joyce said. “Sometimes you swing too much. It’s a little sore and stiff, but I’m not concerned about it.” … The Angels reached agreements on 2015 contracts with all 22 of their players who have less than three years of big league experience, a list that includes pitchers Matt Shoemaker and Mike Morin, first baseman C.J. Cron, Calhoun and Rutledge.
