Catchers

Matt Wieters punctuated a strong week at the plate with a pair of home runs in a game the Orioles really had to win on Sunday and finished the week with a .500 average (8-for-16) with those two homers and a total of five RBIs. He also steered the starting rotation through a difficult week without serious damage to the Orioles' playoff hopes. Meanwhile, backup Taylor Teagarden continues to chip in with a big hit when it really counts, even though he is batting just .133 since coming up to solidify the reserve catcher position at midseason.
