Jacoby Jones, wide receiver/returner

GS: 3 | GP: 16 | Snaps: 558 Season in review: The Ravens signed Jones after the Houston Texans released him last spring, and he turned out to be one of the savviest signings of the offseason. He started the season as the team's third wide receiver and primary punt returner. He took over kickoff returner duties in Week 6 and scored a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys. He would score three return touchdowns during the regular season and produced as the third wide-out. But he became a Baltimore legend with his big plays in the playoffs. Signature moment: There are many to choose from, especially in the playoffs, but his 70-yard touchdown catch late in regulation against the Denver Broncos kept the Ravens' season alive. Without that play, Jones would never have gotten the opportunity to score two more long touchdowns in the Super Bowl. Stat that stands out: 15.8 -- yards per catch for Jones on 35 receptions in 2012, including the postseason. Pro Football Focus grade: +7.5 overall on offense | +4.0 as a receiver | +1.6 penalty | +9.6 on special teams. Outlook for 2013 and beyond: Once he is done "Dancing with the Stars," Jones could be asked to expand his role on offense. The Ravens traded their leading receiver from the past three year, Anquan Boldin, and Jones is the most obvious candidate to replace him in the starting lineup. He struggled to be consistent when he was a starting wide receiver for the Texans, but when he is on his game, his big-play ability will be tantalizing. Jones will need to pick up his game in 2013, but he won’t be the only receiver who needs to do that.
