Camden Yards sets walk-up record Friday

The Baltimore Sun

The Orioles – or actually their fans – set a record Friday.

The announced crowd was 28,954 – which is a whole lot for an Orioles-Royals game, even for a Fireworks Night.

But the real impressive thing is that nearly 11,000 fans bought tickets for the game after 5 p.m. Friday. That’s the largest walk-up crowd in Camden Yards history.

And the Orioles rewarded the fans, jumping out to a 6-0 lead against the Royals.
