Hammel, making just his second start since missing nearly eight weeks after arthroscopic surgery in the same knee, said the pain he felt Tuesday was similar to what he felt in mid-July.
“It's sore obviously,” Hammel said. “But until I get a look at the MRI, I don't know what's going on. We'll have more information. I'm frustrated. That's all I can really be right now until something positive shows up. It's just frustrating.”
Hammel was examined by team orthopedist John Wilckens on Wednesday.
“I think the medical term is unremarkable,” manager
Hammel said there’s still little swelling in the joint, which is unlike his previous injury.
“But that raises more questions for me, like, what's going on?” Hammel said.
