Statistics listed below are through Thursday's games.
1. Dylan Bundy, RHP, High-A Frederick
Skinny: Bundy tossed a scoreless sixth inning in this week’s California-CarolinaAll-Star game. He walked a batter and struck out two more in the Carolina League All-Star’s 9-1 victory. He was named to the United States roster for next month’s Futures Game, as well.
2. Manny Machado, SS, Double-A Bowie
2012 stats: .249 average, .333 on-base percentage, .375 slugging percentage, 4 HRs, 28 RBIs, 27 R, 16 doubles, 2 triples, 50 Ks, 29 BBs, 9 SB, 4 CS
Skinny: Machado continues to produce in the month of June. The infielder has at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games and is batting .326 during that span. In the last week, he has eight RBIs and is 8-for-26 at the plate. In an 8-5 win over Erie Thursday night, the 19-year-old had a solo homerun, three hits and four RBIs. He will be the only other Orioles’ prospect to join Bundy in the Future’s Game.
3. Jonathan Schoop, 3B, Double-A Bowie
2012 stats: .249/.308/.354, 4 HR, 20 RBIs, 27 R, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 49 Ks, 16 BBs, 2 SB, 2 CS
Skinny: The 20-year-old hit two home runs and three doubles this past week while scoring five runs and driving in three more. He has a base hit in nine of his last 10 contests as well, and is slugging .533 during that span. This month has been kind to the Baysox third baseman, who has been delivering power at the plate and striking out much less often.
4. Parker Bridwell, RHP, Low-A Delmarva
2012 stats: 2-5, 5.77 ERA, 59 hits, 33 BBs, 38 Ks in 57.2 IP
Skinny: Bridwell continued to struggle with his command this week. He suffered his fifth loss of the season in the Shorebirds’ 3-2 loss to Kannapolis last week. He gave up just four hits and two runs while striking out five, but also walked five batters in the same amount of innings. In Bridwell’s last four starts, totaling 17 innings pitched, he has walked 18 batters.
5. L.J. Hoes, OF-2B, Triple-A Norfolk
2012 stats: .254/.346/.366, 3 HR, 21 RBIs, 36 R, 13 doubles, 4 triple, 43 Ks, 36 BBs, 13 SB, 8 CS
Skinny: Hoes had a solid week at the plate, breaking out for a pair of three-hit games. He went 8-for-21, drove in two runs and also scored four. In his last 10 games, Hoes is batting .297 and slugging .405. In Triple-A, however, he has posted a .222 average after hitting .265 for Double-A Bowie earlier in the year.
6. Nicky Delmonico, 3B-1B, Low-A Delmarva
2012 stats: .256/.354/.409, 6 HRs, 43 RBIs, 30 R, 19 doubles, 51 Ks, 34 BBs, 6 SB, 0 CS
Skinny: Delmonico had just two hits in four games this past week, batting .142 in that time. He still leads the Shorebirds in RBIs, hits (62), total bases (99) and doubles.
Orioles prospect watch: June 22
