U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin hobnobbed at Preakness with his wife Myrna at his side. Neither wore hats, though Mrs. Cardin said she's tried -- more than -- once to get her husband in some Preakness head gear. "I try to convince him ever year, but you see he didn't do it," she said, laughing. Cardin, meanwhile, praised the event. "It's a great day to celebrate racing... It's entertainment the way it should be and it's a great showcase for Maryland." The senator said he's like to see a Triple Crown so he'd be rooting for I'll Have Another.
