This may be the moment: There comes a point in every baseball season where each team decides what it's going to be, and this may be it for the Orioles. They are the surprise team of the American League, but they have hit a series of speed bumps that have revealed some cracks in the starting rotation and exposed the organization's still-questionable position depth. The good news, of course, is that rookie outfielder Xavier Avery (left) and utilityman Steve Tolleson (center) have jumped into the breach and helped them buy some time while some of the banged up veterans try to get healthy. Still, this just feels like a critical juncture in the season.
