Martin suspended over flagrant fouls
Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin was suspended for one game without pay Thursday for exceeding the flagrant foul points total with five.
Martin was assessed a flagrant foul/penalty one for striking Phoenix’s Boris Diaw in the face Tuesday night.
Martin now faces one-game suspensions for each additional flagrant foul.

Miami Heat forward Shawn Marion will sit out the rest of the season because of a left foot injury.
Marion, acquired in February from Phoenix in the Shaquille O’Neal trade, had sat out 11 of the last 12 games because of what the Heat said were back spasms.

Washington Wizards forward Antawn Jamison wasn’t expected to play tonight against Miami after spraining his right shoulder in the final seconds Wednesday against Milwaukee.
Wizards guard DeShawn Stevenson will be a game-time decision after spraining his ankle in the final seconds of the same game, jeopardizing his consecutive games played streak at 243.

Phoenix Suns forward Grant Hill is expected to play tonight against Minnesota after missing three games because of a strained groin.

Portland Trail Blazers forward Martell Webster was hospitalized because of flu-like symptoms and dizziness.

Larry Brown, a Philadelphia 76ers executive who hasn’t coached since his 2006 firing by the New York Knicks, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that he hopes to get a college or NBA head-coaching job next season.
“I want to get back so bad,” said Brown, 67. “I’m so bored.”
