Lakers 8, Nuggets 6 (5:52 left in first quarter)

Both the Lakers and Nuggets came out a little rusty, missing shots and making turnovers. In fact, the Lakers didn’t score their sixth point until four minutes had elapsed.

Despite the fact that the Nuggets are a high-scoring team, the Lakers seemed happy running with them.

But missed shots dominated the opening period. At the halfway mark in the quarter the Lakers had made three of seven and the Nuggets were a dreadful three of 12.

Ramon Sessions had four of the Lakers’ points, while Kobe Bryant missed both his attempts.

Kenneth Faried led the Nuggets with four points.
