Matt Barnes’ son dresses up as Steph Curry for career day, Barnes not pleased

On career day Friday, one of Matt Barnes’ six-year-old twins made the wrong choice on what to wear to school.

Carter dressed up in a Clippers uniform as his father, while Isaiah dressed up as Golden State Warriors’ guard Stephen Curry.

Barnes posted the photo to Instagram, and in the text wrote, “Can you guess wat kid will be up for adoption nxt week?? Lol JUST KIDDING.”

The Clippers’ starting small forward was born in Santa Clara and went to high school in Sacramento. He also played for the Warriors for two seasons, in 2006-07 and 2007-08.

“It’s funny because my ex-wife told me that Friday is career day,” Barnes said before Friday’s practice. “I’m like, ‘Okay, what are they going to be?’ She was like, ‘Carter is going to be you and Isaiah is going to be someone else.’ I’m like, ‘Who is he going to be?’ She smiled and said, ‘Steph Curry.’

“I picked him up [Thursday] night and was like, ‘Isaiah, who are you going to be tomorrow?’ He was like, ‘Nobody.’ And Carter was like, ‘No, he’s going to be Steph Curry, daddy.’ He told on him, it’s cool, that’s not a bad player to look up to.”

Isaiah, however, realizes that if the Clippers beat the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs, and end up meeting the top-seeded Golden State Warriors down the road, he won’t be able to don the uniform of his favorite player for much longer.

“Isaiah told me yesterday, ‘I guess when you guys play them in the playoffs, I’ll have to root for you,’” Barnes said. “I’m like, ‘You better root for me.’”
