Clippers return to winning ways with 113-91 victory over Pistons

After losing their last two games on the road to Washington and Milwaukee, the Clippers returned home to beat the Detroit Pistons, 113-91, at Staples Center on Monday.

The Clippers trailed by as many as nine points and there were eight lead changes, but the Clippers went up by 26 points in the third quarter and kept control of the game.

The Clippers (17-7) shot 53.8% from the field compared to the Pistons’ 42.7%, and forced Detroit into 18 turnovers. The Clippers had 35 assists on 43 field goals and had an array of highlight-reel dunks, including one from Glen “Big Baby” Davis.

Six Clippers players finished in double digits: Blake Griffin (18 points, seven rebounds, seven assists), DeAndre Jordan (16 points, 15 rebounds), J.J. Redick (14 points on seven-for-nine shooting), Jordan Farmar (15 points), Chris Paul (11 points, eight assists) and Matt Barnes (10 points, including three three-pointers).

Paul had a very uncharacteristic six turnovers in each of the Clippers’ losses to Washington and Milwaukee. On Monday, he finished with just one.

The Pistons (5-20) were led by Jodie Meeks, who had 20 points and four assists.

The Clippers host the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday before hitting the road to play the Denver Nuggets on Friday. They return to Staples Center on Saturday to play the Bucks.
