Yasiel Puig will return to the Dodgers’ starting lineup on Sunday for the series finale against the Miami Marlins, Manager Don Mattingly said.

Puig played as a reserve in the series opener Friday night and could have started Saturday, but Mattingly decided against it.

The game Saturday will be the fourth in a row that Puig hasn’t started because of a ruptured callus on his left hand.

“I knew we had a day game tomorrow,” Mattingly said. “I figured we’re playing OK. Give him one more day. This thing should be gone by then, where it’s total freedom.”

The callus initially tore Monday in the series opener against the Chicago Cubs, exposing a quarter-sized patch of raw skin. Puig played the remainder of that game, as well the game on Tuesday, with his left hand heavily bandaged.

Puig appeared against Miami on Friday as a pinch hitter and played the final two innings in right field.

With Puig on the bench Saturday, Andre Ethier will start in right field. Enrique Hernandez will be in left.
