Adrian Gonzalez now second in All-Star voting; no Dodger starter?

The Dodgers trail only the St. Louis Cardinals for best record in the National League, but they’re looking at not having one starter on the National League All-Star team.

Their one position player who was leading the voting, first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, has slipped behind Arizona’s Paul Goldschmidt in the latest voting results released Tuesday.

Goldschmidt had 2,010,049 fan votes, to 1,882,725 for Gonzalez. Second baseman Howie Kendrick (fourth), catcher Yasmani Grandal (fifth) and rookie outfielder Joc Pederson (11th) are the only other Dodgers listed in the new totals.

Gonzalez got off to a blazing start, hitting .377 with nine homers, 29 RBI and a .438 on-base percentage in his first 30 games. In his last 27 games he’s hitting .269 with two homers and 10 RBI, but still with a .370 on-base percentage.

Goldschmidt leads all NL first baseman in homers (16), RBI (47), batting (.340), runs (44) and on-base (.466) and slugging (.650) percentages. Gonzalez leads in doubles (21).
