Prospects Trayce Thompson and Micah Johnson play key roles in Dodgers’ 6-2 win over Brewers

AT THE PLATE: Two of the prospects acquired from the Chicago White Sox last winter figured in a five-run first inning. Second baseman Micah Johnson singled to start the inning, and center fielder Trayce Thompson capped it with a three-run home run. Johnson is batting .370 this spring. Thompson is batting .226 in a team-high 31 at-bats, but four of his seven hits have gone for extra bases. . . . Third baseman Justin Turner is batting 1.000. He made his Cactus League debut and singled and walked in two plate appearances.
ON THE MOUND: Mike Bolsinger, trying to reprise his 2015 role as a rotation understudy, pitched four shutout innings. He started 21 games last season — more than anyone besides Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke and Brett Anderson — and posted a respectable 3.62 ERA. Injuries to Anderson and Hyun-Jin Ryu have put Bolsinger in position to return to the rotation, at least at the start of the season.
EXTRA BASES: The Dodgers (9-2) have the best record in the Cactus League. . . . Ryu, still hopeful of a May return after shoulder surgery, completed his first bullpen session in three weeks. . . . The Dodgers sent eight players to minor league camp, including pitching prospects Chris Anderson and Jharel Cotton.
