Some day it will end. The odds demand it. Not Saturday, though. On Saturday afternoon it was just more of the same familiar, lousy script.

Carl Crawford injured his right leg running out a double in the third inning in Denver, grabbing the lower back portion above the knee.

It had all the makings of a hamstring injury, one with which the Dodgers have become painfully familiar. Currently on the disabled list with hamstring injuries are shortstop Hanley Ramirez and center-fielder Matt Kemp.

[Updated, 3:10 p.m.: Looks like good news for Crawford. The Dodgers announced it was a cramp and not a strained hamstring.]

The Dodgers have yet to replace Kemp with an outfielder, and now they could be down a second starting outfielder. Bet they have another by Sunday.

Crawford did not appear to be running particularly hard — he had pitcher Zack Greinke on the bases ahead of him — but began limping as he approached second base and immediately reached for the back of his leg.

Trainer Sue Falsone quickly went out to attend to him, and almost as quickly escorted him off the field. Scott Van Slyke replaced him at second.

Ramirez is currently on a rehab assignment with Class-A Rancho Cucamonga and could rejoin the Dodgers on Monday.

The Dodgers have already used the disabled list 15 times this season (12 players).
