The Norfolk Admirals signed enforcer Jay Rosehill, 27, to a pro tryout contract that is valid for as many as 25 regular-season games. The signing increased the Admirals’ training-camp roster to 35.
Rosehill, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound forward who is entering his eighth pro season, has appeared in 327 career AHL games among Norfolk, Toronto and Springfield, accumulating 19 goals, 27 assists and 928 penalty minutes.
He has played 72 NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs, collecting two goals, three assists and 198 penalty minutes.
The Admirals will play the Charlotte Checkers in preseason games at 7:15 p.m. Saturday at Scope and at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Chilled Ponds complex in Chesapeake.
