The Norfolk Admirals (29-28-4-1) lost their second game in a row Tuesday, falling 4-1 to the Adirondack Phantoms to open a two-game AHL series at Norfolk Scope Arena.
Tye McGinn had two goals and two assists for the Phantoms.
Devante Smith-Pelly scored for the Admirals, but only after Norfolk was down by four goals to the Philadelphia Flyers' top affiliate.
The Phantoms (25-32-2-3) began the night last in the 15-team Eastern Conference.
The Admirals, who had won seven of nine games before dropping two in a row, need to quickly turn their fortunes around to earn a playoff berth.
