One NHL record was set and a Ducks franchise record was tied. Yes, there was plenty to digest following the Ducks’ 4-1 win against the Calgary Flames on Sunday.

Here’s what we learned:

The streak doesn’t appear to be in jeopardy

Anaheim set an NHL record for consecutive regular-season home wins against one opponent with its 24th straight against Calgary. There were close calls early in the streak with overtime games and one-goal games, but it hasn’t really been close lately. The Ducks beat the Flames 8-3 and 5-2 at home last season. Even the 2015 playoff series between the teams saw Ducks’ home wins of 6-1 and 3-0.

“That’s a good team who didn’t take many risks, played smart and didn’t give us much,” Calgary defenseman Mark Giordano said.

Calgary’s last win in Anaheim was in 2004, although they won a playoff game here in 2006.

“Any streak, I think, is pretty amazing in this league,” said Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf, who tied Teemu Selanne for the franchise lead in assists with 531.

“There’s so many good teams. Those are things we want to keep building on. We always want to make this building a hard building to play in.”

Calgary doesn’t visit Anaheim again until April 4.

Andrew Cogliano is finishing his chances

If there were a category for breakaway and two-on-one chances, Cogliano might lead the NHL. His speed allows him to break free in transition, but he he’s had trouble converting. This season? He leads the Ducks with five goals following his impressive score on a rush with Jakob Silfverberg in the second period.

Cogliano didn’t score his fifth goal until Feb.5 last season and finished with nine.

Jonathan Bernier’s first win wasn’t taxing

Bernier saw four shots in the third period, and most of Calgary’s shots were from the perimeter. No matter. Bernier recorded his first win as a Ducks goalie. His other appearances were a loss in his debut and two no decisions.
