DETROIT—The Worm is coming home.
The Detroit Pistons announced today that they are retiring Dennis Rodman's #10 jersey. The interesting part about the jersey-hanging ceremony? It will happen on the Piston's April 1st game against Chicago.
It's no April Fools joke. Rodman, who was as much of a character on the court as he was off it, was a part of the Bad Boys era in Detroit in which Detroit won back to back NBA Championships in 1989 and 1990.
Greg Monroe, who currently wears the #10 jersey for Detroit, will be allowed to keep it the rest of his NBA career in Detroit. The Pistons say it will be taken out of rotation at the end of Monroe's career.
Rodman says the honor is "truly humbling."
