Once again, the Tigers offense did very little, but Anibal Sanchez made sure it was enough.

Sanchez threw his seventh career complete game and fifth career shutout, scattering just three hits and striking out 10 as the Tigers topped the Royals tonight 2-0.

Detroit scored two runs off Royals starter Bruce Chen in the bottom of the first off RBI singles from Prince Fielder and Delmon Young and that would be all they needed.

With the win and a White Sox loss to Cleveland earlier in the day, the Tigers are now tied with Chicago for the AL Central Division lead.  Both teams have identical 82-72 records and have 8 games remaining on the schedule.
