Two-for-three isn't bad.
Grand Haven and Morley-Stanwood each won their respective state title in the MHSAA high school girls' basketball at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, while Grand Rapids Catholic Central fell in the Class B final.
Grand Haven topped Grosse Pointe South 54-53 in the Class A State Final thanks to a late basket by Shar'Rae Davis capping off a comeback that saw the Buccaneers down by as many as 18 in the third quarter. It's the first girls' basketball state title for Grand Haven and comes one day after five Grand Haven students were involved in a car accident on I-96.
