Baseball: Jordan Martini leads Tesoro to 12-0 win over Capistrano Valley

Tesoro is off to a 4-0 start and came away on Thursday with an impressive 12-0 win over Capistrano Valley. Cougars pitchers had given up one run in three games.

Jordan Martini struck out eight with no walks and allowed four hits. Brett Auerbach had three hits and three RBIs. Martini added two hits and two RBIs. Tesoro will face host JSerra on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the final of the Newport Elks tournament.

El Camino Real 6, West Ranch 1: At USC, the Conquistadores got a stellar pitching performance from Jordan Berg, who started with six shutout innings. Eric Yang and Dane Reed contributed two RBIs each and Jake Baer and Jake Selco had two hits apiece.

Granada Hills 1, Kennedy 0: Chris Murphy struck out 11 and allowed one hit. Matthew Bacon had the game-winning RBI. Andrew Campos threw a complete game for Kennedy.

El Toro 2, Cypress 0: Bradley Spooner threw a two-hit shutout, striking out seven. El Toro will play Aliso Niguel for the Loara tournament title on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Glover Stadium.

Great Oak 1, Mt. Carmel 0: Zack Noll (3-0) struck out 13, walked none and allowed one hit to lead Great Oak (4-1). Chris Begg and Owen Janes had two hits apiece.

Aliso Niguel 1, Lakewood 0: Senior Ethan Butka threw the shutout for Aliso Niguel (5-1).

Foothill 6, Eastvale Roosevelt 2: Matthew O’Donoghue had two hits and two RBIs.

South Hills 4, Mater Dei 3: South Hills rallied for three runs in the sixth. Hayden Petrovick struck out 13 and improved to 3-0. It was Coach Darren Murphy’s 300th career win.

Sierra Canyon 6, Sylmar 0: Seth Stone struck out eight in six innings.

Santa Margarita 10, El Modena 8: The Eagles got the nine-inning win by scoring five runs in the ninth. Austin Villanueva had three RBIs and Ryne Russo added three hits and two RBIs.

Mira Costa 10, Peninsula 0: Chris Penna had two hits and two RBIs. Mira Costa will face Bellflower in its division final of the El Segundo tournament on Saturday at 4 p.m. at El Segundo Park.

Redondo 17, Gardena Serra 1: Sean Reynolds struck out 11 in five innings. Marco Valenzuela had three hits and four RBIs. Redondo will play Royal on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the division final of the El Segundo tournament.

Royal 8, El Segundo 0: Chris Contreras allowed two hits in 6 1/3 innings. Tommy Garcia contributed two hits.

Servite 3, Bishop Amat 2: Aaron Simpson and Tanner Smith had two hits apiece for Servite. Sean Paquet struck out nine and allowed three hits.

Corona 9, St. John Bosco 0: Corona improved to 4-2 behind Hunter Collins, who threw a two-hitter.

Mission Viejo 4, La Habra 1: Joey Castilli had two hits and Ryan Shields got the save for the Diablos.

Dana Hills 2, El Dorado 1: The Dolphins got the win in eight innings. Shawn Kany had two hits.

Gahr 5, Corona Santiago 2: Christian Corral threw a complete game. Ryan Williams had two hits for Santiago.

Moorpark 16, Desert Christian 1: Kenny Brawner struck out 10 and allowed one hit in six innings. Brian Guy hit a home run and had four RBIs.

Vista Murrieta 2, Edison 0: Chance Hroch struck out 10 and threw a one-hitter.

Beckman 11, Irvine University 0: Austin Schnell contributed three RBIs for unbeaten Beckman (6-0).

Bellflower 4, Narbonne 0: Ricky Ramos threw the shutout.

Long Beach Millikan 10, Fountain Valley 2: The Rams (3-3) got the nonleague win.

Sage Hill 3, Valley Christian 0: Brett Super threw a perfect game.

Villa Park 1, Los Alamitos 0: Cole Wiens and Chad Germain combined for the shutout.

Corona del Mar 5, Ayala 4: Corona del Mar pulled out the win with a walk-off in the seventh.

Dos Pueblos 6, Westlake 4: Adam Hess had two hits and two RBIs.

Torrance 7, Palisades 0: Dante Mendoza struck out nine for Torrance.

Einstein 7, Trinity 3: Sean Burns threw a complete. Brian Pape had two RBIs.

Anaheim Canyon 5, Marina 2: Grant King gave up one earned run in five innings and Grant Askins had two hits for Canyon (5-1).

San Clemente 2, Woodbridge 1: The Tritons picked up the win.

Ventura 3, Quartz Hill 2: Ventura got a walk-off in the seventh.

La Mirada 6, Long Beach Poly 5: La Mirada got a walk-off win.
