Baseball: Blake Rutherford’s three hits leads USA 18U team

Blake Rutherford from Chaminade had three hits to help the USA 18U national team defeat Brazil, 5-2, in a pool-play game of the WBSC U18 World Cup in Japan.

USA advances to face Korea in the six-nation Super Round on Thursday.

Hagen Danner from Huntington Beach recorded the final three outs, striking out two, for the save. Reggie Lawson from Victor Valley allowed one hit and one run in 4 2/3 innings of relief.
