Baseball: Bryce Fehmel leads surging Agoura

Agoura (17-2, 7-1) won its ninth consecutive game on Friday, with shortstop Bryce Fehmel showing off some power.

Fehmel went three for three, including a double and home run, and finished with four RBI to power the Chargers to a 5-2 Marmonte League win over Newbury Park.

Thousand Oaks defeated Oaks Christian, 9-4. Westlake defeated Calabasas, 13-8. Matthew Donovan contributed two hits and four RBI and Dean McMillan added three hits.

Amore Pesso’s walk-off two-run double in the ninth inning gave Simi Valley a 5-4 win over Moorpark in the Coastal Canyon League.

In the Sunset League, Huntington Beach turned loose its bats in a 13-1 win over Edison. Daniel Amaral went four for five with three RBI. Cooper Moore had three hits and three RBI. Kyle Coburn had two hits and three RBI. Michael Mahony hit a home run for Edison.

In the South Coast League, Tesoro held off Dana Hills, 1-0. Jordan Martini allowed three hits for Tesoro. Zach Wolf allowed one hit and struck out seven in the loss for Dana Hills.

In the Foothill League, Dylan Thomas threw the shutout in Valencia’s 4-0 win over West Ranch. Hart defeated Canyon, 9-0, behind Paul Richan, who struck out 11. Saugus defeated Golden Valley, 11-0. Caden Mahen threw five shutout innings. Tony Williams and Caden Gonzales had two doubles apiece.

In the Mission League, Harvard-Westlake defeated Loyola, 4-3. Jackson Grayson hit a home run and Cameron Deere got the save. Matt McGeagh had a two-run double for Loyola.

Hunter Greene and Jake Hirabayashi hit home runs in Notre Dame’s 18-4 win over Crespi (the varsity played). Alemany blew a 6-1 lead but rallied for a 10-8 win over St. Francis. Ruben Cardenas had three hits. Chris Ligot had three RBI. Carter Yankie threw 3 2/3 innings scoreless relief.

In the Trinity League, Orange Lutheran defeated Servite, 6-5. Josh Bissonette broke the tie with an RBI single. He finished with three hits and two RBI. Santa Margarita scored four runs in the seventh to defeat St. John Bosco, 7-6. Derek Park tied the game with a two-run single and Nick Meyer won it with an RBI. Meyer finished with four hits.

JSerra defeated Mater Dei, 8-5. Ryan Pena hit a grand slam. Jake Pries had two hits and two RBI. After one week of Trinity League play, JSerra, Santa Margarita and Orange Lutheran are all 2-1.

In the Palomares League, Bonita defeated Glendora, 12-8. Justin Gomez had a home run and two RBI. Ayala stayed in first place with a 7-0 win over Claremont behind pitcher Jonathan Buckley.

In the Southwestern League, Vista Murrieta defeated Great Oak, 8-1. Jack Moberg had two hits and three RBI and threw five innings, allowing one run.

In the Del Rey League, Cathedral defeated Bishop Amat, 8-7. Emilio Artica threw 6 2/3 innings for Cathedral. Clarence Carter and Nick Valdez had three hits each for Bishop Amat.

In the Baseline League, Chino Hills defeated Rancho Cucamonga, 9-2. Trevor Walker allowed one run in six innings and Justin Chavez had two hits and two RBI.

In the Ocean League, Nolan Martinez struck out 11 and threw a one-hitter in Culver City’s 7-0 win over Lawndale. He also hit a three-run home run.

In the Crestview League, Brett Conine of El Modena struck out 10 in six innings and contributed two hits in his team’s 4-2 win over Yorba Linda.

Beckman improved to 6-1 in the Pacific Coast League with a 3-1 win over Northwood. Matt McLain went three for three. Adam Lamar struck out six and walked none in a complete game.

In the Pacific League, Burroughs received another strong pitching performance Danny Bustos in a 9-0 win over Arcadia. Bustos struck out four and walked none while giving up three hits. Tyler Lewis went three for three with three RBI. Crescenta Valley defeated Muir, 10-0. Adrian Damla went three for three.

Sierra Canyon defeated Campbell Hall, 9-3. Jake Paterson, Seth Stone, Jake Fried and Billy Edwards each had two hits. Stone and Fried had three RBI.

In the Channel League, Santa Barbara defeated San Marcos, 4-3. The Dons rallied in the eighth inning with two out. John Jensen had three hits, including a home run. Trevor Moropoulos had the game-winning two-run double.

Esperanza defeated Foothill, 8-1. Dominic Potlongo threw a five-hitter. Haydon Nix and Cain Allen each had two hits and two RBI.

Villa Park (15-4) pulled out a 4-3, 12-inning win over El Dorado on a hit batter. San Clemente defeated Trabuco Hills, 5-4. Lucas Herbert had two hits.
