Baseball: Carson’s season ends as punishment for brawl

Share

As punishment for its participation in a brawl last week against San Pedro, the Carson baseball team has been suspended for the rest of the season, the City Section announced on Thursday.

Carson had been on probation for a previous incident against Banning last season. The school had been warned about possible sanctions should another incident occur. All of Carson’s remaining games will be declared forfeits and the school will be put on probation for 2016.

There will be no more night games in the Marine League beginning with the section playoffs.

San Pedro will be on probation for the rest of this season and next season.

The game will be a double forfeit and both teams had to forfeit their next games.

San Pedro can resume play and will not have to forfeit any other games. Commissioner John Aguirre said the principals agreed to the actions and no appeal is anticipated. Additional individual punishment of players involved could occur once identified.
