Boys’ basketball: Brentwood knocks off Campbell Hall, 51-50

The competitive Gold Coast League had another exciting ending on Thursday night. Maxwell Kupchak of Brentwood delivered four consecutive clutch free throws in the final 30 seconds to help Brentwood hold off Campbell Hall, 51-50.

Brentwood improved to 17-3 and 3-2. It was the second consecutive one-point loss for the Vikings (15-7, 2-3). Ountae Campbell scored 22 points and Kupchak had 14. Aaron Holiday scored 23 points for Campbell Hall.

Viewpoint defeated Crossroads, 66-54. Miye Oni had 23 points and 21 rebounds. Windward defeated Paraclete, 59-47.

In the Big VIII League, Corona Centennial (15-4, 5-0) defeated Riverside King, 72-31. Jordan Griffin had 17 points and Khalil Ahmad added 16.

In the East Valley League, Sun Valley Poly defeated Arleta, 81-40. Cesar Reyes had 25 points. Poly will play Verdugo Hills in a battle of unbeaten league games at home on Friday.

Buckley defeated Milken 70-52. Mike Meadows had 24 points, including five three-pointers, and Kihei Clark added 22 points and 10 assists.
