Boys’ basketball: Redondo knocks off No. 1 Corona Centennial, 55-54

In Las Vegas, Redondo stamped itself as one of the elite teams in Southern California on Friday night, defeating No. 1 Corona Centennial, 55-54, in a divisional semifinal game of the Tarkanian Classc

Chris Famous had a chance to tie the game for Centennial with 5.9 seconds left by made only one of two free throws.

Chino Hills defeated West Linn, 97-74. Maranatha received 38 points from Tyler Dorsey in a 79-71 win over Windward. Long Beach Poly (9-2) defeated Bountiful, 64-55.

In Hawaii, Orange Lutheran played well in a 60-52 loss to Oakland Bishop O’Dowd. Rogers Printup and Keisean Lucier-South each scored 16 points. Ivan Rabb had 22 points for Bishop O’Dowd.

In the Westminster tournament, Tahquitz handed Price its first defeat, 58-57. Price went seven of 20 from the free-throw line.

In the Western League, Fairfax (6-0) defeated Venice, 82-27. Donald Gipson scored 17 points and Isaiah Ajiboye had 15 points.

In the San Fernando Valley Invitational, Leandro Amador score 27 points, Kobe Paras 18 and Lucas Siewert 18 in Cathedral’s 104-74 win over St. Genevieve. Chaminade defeated Chatsworth, 89-46. MIchael Oguine scored 33 points. Chaminade will play Village Christian on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Kennedy. Village Christian received 29 points from Bennie Boatwright in a 75-39 win over Kennedy.

Alemany defeated Grant, 87-35. Shacquille Dawkins scored 21 points. Crespi (7-0) defeated Milken, 67-35. De’Anthony Melton had 23 points. Crescenta Valley defeated Granada Hills, 52-44. Canyon defeated Agoura, 52-40.

In the Mission Prep tournament, Taft defeated Nevada Elko, 38-34. Damien Wilson had nine points. Campbell Hall defeated Arroyo Grande, 71-58. Aaron Holiday scored 26 points in his first game of the season. Gabriel Bell-Williams had 23 points. Holiday had been sidelined with a knee injury.

In the City of Palms tournament, Mater Dei won its opening game, 65-46, over Webster Groves. MJ Cage had 18 points and 18 rebounds. Sierra Canyon received 22 points and nine rebounds from Cody Riley in a 59-55 win over Archbishop Carroll.

In the Inland Empire Classic, Etiwanda defeated Temecula Valley, 73-33. Kameron Edwards and Jordan Naughton had 18 points apiece. Rarncho Cucamonga defeated Redlands East Valley, 78-69. Tamer Jabsheh had 21 points. Etiwianda will face host Rancho Cucamonga in Saturday’s 7:30 p.m. final.

In Hawaii, Thousand Oaks defeated Kapa’a, 92-44. Matt Hauser scored 25 points and Josh Hauser added 16 for the 10-1 Lancers.

In the Bell-Jeff tournament, Buckley defeated Hollywood, 73-46. Austin Buttler had 23 points and 13 rebounds. He also had five dunks.

In the Pacifica tournament, St. Bonaventure advanced to the championship game with a 54-35 win over Lompoc. Thomas Frank scored 24 points.

Gahr defeated Servite, 84-66. Trevor Treinen led Servite with 23 points.

In the Santa Margarita tournament, Santa Margarita defeated San Dieguito, 75-55. Colin Ferrier had 15 points.

Viewpoint defeated Providence, 62-16. Christian Juzang had 12 points. Crenshaw defeated Mira COsta, 62-57. Ryan Beddeo had 29 points in West Ranch’s 77-73 win over Clovis North.

Westlake defeated Valencia, 70-67. Isaiah Brooks had 19 points. Dakota Abbott led Valencia with 24 points.

In the North Orange County championships, Anaheim Canyon defeated Sonora, 74-73.

Royal defeated Newbury Park, 62-54.
