Boys’ basketball: Riverside North wins Mission Prep championship

Watch out for Riverside North, the new champion of the Mission Prep tournament in San Luis Obispo.

Dikymbe Martin was the tournament MVP in leading unbeaten North (8-0) past Marin Catholic, 57-39, in the championship game on Tuesday night.

Bishop Montgomery took third place with a 56-35 win over league rival Gardena Serra. Taft lost to Mission Prep, 57-37.

Bell-Jeff won its own tournament championship, ending a 37-game regular-season winning streak by Buckley with a 75-66 win.

Austin Butler scored 37 points for Buckley.

In the San Fernando Valley Invitational, Alemany received 25 points from Daron Henson to defeat Crespi, 63-52, to claim third place. Bennie Boatwright scored 29 points in Village Christian’s 72-56 win over Crescenta Valley.

Canyon defeated Milken, 70-44. Grant defeated Kennedy, 53-36.

In the City of Palms tournament in Florida, Sierra Canyon won the consolation title with a 61-56 overtime win over Ohio Wayne. Remy Martin had 15 points. Cody Riley made the all-tournament team, along with Rex Pflueger of Santa Ana Mater Dei.
