Boys’ basketball: Vance Jackson, Kendall Small engage in shootout
6-8 junior at St. John Bosco has lots of ability
Kendall Small, the All-Southern Section point guard from Mayfair who’s committed to Oregon, scored 28 points.
Vance Jackson, the 6-foot-8 junior from St. John Bosco who received scholarship offers from Oregon and USC this week, scored 19 points.
It was a mini-shootout on Thursday night in the DeMar DeRozan tournament at Compton, with St. John Bosco prevailing, 58-56.
Jackson has lots of upside and versatility. Small was doing his best to lead his team from behind. It was fun watching two of Southern California’s best.
