Football: Kevin Howell making major contributions for Thousand Oaks
Thousand Oaks (10-2) is one win away from reaching the Southern Section Northern Division final, and receiver-defensive back Kevin Howell has been enjoying a super senior season.
On defense, he has three interceptions and 51 tackles.
On offense, he’s averaging 19.7 yards per catch with 66 receptions for 1,299 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Quarterback Max Gilliam, who has passed for 2,854 yards and 34 touchdowns, is headed to Cal but he probably wishes he could take Howell with him. Howell is committed to Nevada.
Thousand Oaks plays at Arroyo Grande (11-1) on Friday night. The other semifinal has Bishop Diego (12-0) playing at Camarillo (12-0).
