It's been a struggle at times this season for two-time defending City Section Division II champion San Fernando, but the Tigers are still in the mix and scheduled to play Eagle Rock on Friday in a quarterfinal playoff game.

Coach Robert Garcia has relied on his defense while waiting for the offense to get healthy and improve. Finally, the offense is beginning to click behind freshman running back Michael Alejandro and junior running back Marcus Rebellero.

On defense, defensive ends Ricky Magana (16 sacks) and Louie De La Cruz (12 sacks) have been putting the pressure on quarterbacks.

It will be a tough challenge beating No. 2-seeded Eagle Rock (10-1) and standout running back Michael Soracco, but the Tigers (6-5) aren't going down without a fight.
