Signing parties planned for early letter of intent this week
Schools, families and teams are planning signing parties this week to celebrate athletes signing their early letters of intent in all sports but football, soccer and boys’ water polo. The first day to sign is Wednesday.
Lawndale is having a signing gathering on Friday to honor three basketball players who are signing. They are Chimezie Metu (USC), Brodricks Jones (San Diego State) and Chris White (UTEP).
Mayfair point guard Kendall Small will sign with Oregon.
Agoura’s baseball team will have four players sign _ shortstop Bryce Fehmel (Oregon State), infielder Joe Czarske (Arizona), catcher Ryan Fineman (Indiana) and pitcher Matt Lautz (UC Santa Barbara).
Santa Ana Mater Dei will have a gathering that features 14 signees.
They include baseball players Blake Burton (Washington), Bryan Call (Brigham Young), Rece Goodman (Navy), Brandon Perez (USC); boys’ basketball Rex Pflueger (Notre Dame); girls’ basketball Katie Lou Samuelson (Connecticut), Andree Velasco (Loyola Marymount), Bianca Velasco (Loyola Marymount); girls’ golf Jakeishya Lee (UC Riverside); softball Morganne Flores (Washington), Melissa Rochford (Notre Dame), Samantha Zaccari (George Mason) and girls’ volleyball J’Nai Higgins (Coppin State) and Anna Chin (Tulane).
