Softball: Santa Monica Patriots win ASA Western title
The Santa Monica Patriots won the ASA Western national championship in softball in Wyoming last week for 16U.
Among the players helping the team win the championship were third baseman Sarah Dunn from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, outfielder Jammie Dunn from Notre Dame, outfielder Hali Norris from Malibu, pitcher Paulette Ely from Palisades, catcher Vanessa Temblador from Notre Dame Academy and first baseman Amanda Gonzalez from St. Sebastian.
Ely dominated in the semifinals and championship game on the mound.
