Track: Matt Katknik to announce college choice on Monday
Matt Katnik of St. John Bosco, the No. 1 shot putter in the state, is scheduled to announce his college choice on Monday.
The finalists are USC, UCLA and Stanford.
He has strong ties to USC, with his parents and two brothers having attended USC or graduated from USC.
He’s an honors student, so Stanford has appeal. And UCLA also has made a big push with its past success with shot putters.
Katnik was also a standout lineman for the St. John Bosco football team but plans to focus on track and field in college.
