Wrestling: St. John Bosco’s Valencia brothers are three-time champions
The Valencia brothers from St. John Bosco, Anthony and Zahid, each won their third state championship at the CIF state boys wrestling championships on Saturday in Bakersfield.
Anthony won the 170-pound division. Zahid won at 182 pounds.
They are the 20th and 21st wrestlers in state championship history to win three state titles.
Other Southern California winners were Julian Flores of San Marino at 132 pounds and freshman Cade Olivas of St. John Bosco at 106 pounds.
Clovis won the team title. San Marino finished third and St. John Bosco was fifth.
