SMITHSBURG — Cara Ferguson pitched a two-hitter to lead Smithsburg to a six-inning 11-1 victory over Brunswick (2-2, 1-1) in the MVAL Antietam on Thursday.
Ferguson helped her own cause with four hits, including a two-run home run that capped an eight-run sixth for the Leopards (4-0, 2-0). Brooke Parks had two hits and two RBIs, Shayla Murray had two RBIs and Krystal Holl added two hits.

Demory finished with two hits and five RBIs, while Jess Martin had three hits and four RBIs for the Panthers (2-1). Tatum True had four hits, Emily Harvey had three hits and Tiffany Younker struck out seven in 3 2/3 innings to earn the win in relief.
