WILLIAMSPORT — Stacey Christy had 14 kills and six blocks and Summer Neff had 16 assists, two aces, and three kills to lead Williamsport in a 25-13, 25-19, 25-22 sweep of Walkersville on Tuesday.
Haley Wolff had four kills, Emily Taylor had 10 assists, and Brooklyn Welch had 18 digs for the undefeated Wildcats (7-0).

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. — Southern Fulton poured it on Allegany in a 25-18, 25-20, 25-21 sweep of the Campers.
Maggie Deneen led the way for the Indians, racking up 17 service points and two aces. Jenna Palmer added seven service points and eight digs, while Emily Barton and Whitney Ritz each had five kills for Southern Fulton (3-6).
Abby Hawkins led the Indians in assists with 13 and Abby Deneen recorded six digs.

THURMONT, Md. — Shelby Griffith had 16 assists, 17 digs and two aces to lead Boonsboro to a 25-11, 25-16, 22-25, 20-25, 15-10 MVAL Antietam victory over Catoctin.
Shelby Wallace had 14 assists, 10 digs, three kills and three blocks, Taylor Williams had nine kills, Shannon O’Brien had seven kills and two blocks, Sydney Parks had seven blocks and four kills, Tiffany Rohrer had 31 digs and Amber Myers had 17 digs and two aces for the Warriors (4-2).

Lauren Fahrney had 19 service points, Bobbi Burnett had six kills and Regan Marshalleck had 18 digs for the Rebels (0-6).

Broadfording Christian rallied from a 2-1 deficit in games to edge Grace Academy 16-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-14,16-14 in an MDCC match.
Sarah Couch had a team-high 16 kills to go with four blocks and an ace for Broadfording. Katie Connolly had eight kills, eight assists and two aces, while Annie Hunt led the Lions with 11 assists and posted three aces.

Andy Torres scored all four of Broadfording’s goals in an MDCC victory over Heritage Academy.

CARLISLE, Pa. — Hagerstown Community College finished with a team score of 147 and placed 11th out of 21 teams at the 2011 Dickinson College Long Course-Short Course Invitational.
John Hopkins finished in first place and took home team honors with 26 points.
Mike Salguero finished 38th and Brandon Horning was 45th for the Hawks.

DAVIS, W.Va. — The Shepherd University men’s golf team placed 12th out of 13 teams at the WVIAC Central Regional at Canaan Valley Golf Course. The University of Charleston took home team honors with a two-day total of 15-under-par 561.
The Rams were led by Cameron Beckner, who fired a 134 to finish in a tie for 19th place. He was followed by Cody Euler (155, T-47th), Brian Milburn and Chris Gilkey (159, T-57th), and Chris Ferrell (161, T-59th).

Junior basketball registration
Registration for the Hagerstown Junior Basketball League will be held next Oct. 3-6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at E. Russell Hicks Middle School and Oct. 8 from 9-11 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti High School.
All players — whether new or returning — must register to play, but only new players and those advancing from the Elementary Division to the Junior Division must try out. Players cannot be more than 14 years old on Dec. 31, 2011, to be eligible to play.

The second annual Help Us Help Kaycee Golf Tournament will be held Oct. 14 at Cress Creek Golf Club in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
Registration begins at noon with a shotgun start at 1. Cost is $75 per player, which includes greens fees and a pig roast catered by Jims BBQ & Fixins. Tickets for nongolfers are $10 per person.
