Anaheim Ducks Coach Randy Carlyle signs 2-year extension
Carlyle has the most wins and highest-winning percentage in the history of the Ducks. He’ll be heading into his fourth season with the team, which won the Stanley Cup last year.
If it’s summer, it must be time for contract extensions for Ducks Coach Randy Carlyle.
Today, Carlyle signed a two-year extension with the team, meaning he has three years remaining on his contract through the 2010-11 season. After the Ducks won the Stanley Cup last year, he agreed to a one-year extension in June.
“In our view, Randy is one of the top coaches in the NHL,” said Ducks General Manager Brian Burke. “We’ve had an aggressive, hard-working club each of the past three years, largely due to his influence. He’s clearly been paramount to our success since taking over the reins.”
Carlyle, who has the most wins and highest-winning percentage in Ducks history, will be heading into his fourth season with the club, guiding them to the playoffs the last three.
Carlyle, 52, is now under contract longer than his immediate boss, Burke, who is heading into the final year of his deal with the Ducks.
