Seahawks left guard Robert Gallery suffered a groin injury in yesterday's game against Steelers game and will be sidelined 4-6 weeks.
Gallery will need to undergo surgery and Paul McQuistan will replace him on the line at the left guard position. Rookie James Carpenter will remain at right tackle.
The 31-year old Gallery, was signed by the Seahawks in the offseason and suffered a sprain knee in the teams final exhibition game, that kept him out of the season opener.
"He's an important guy to us," Carroll said. "We've loved having him. He's a fantastic character on your team, personality and all. The experience he has been through, the knowledge that he has helps other guys so you miss that. There's no replacing that.
